Senior Aviation Military Analyst - (Aviation Maintenance and Maintenance Facilities Expertise)

Department: Army Acquisition Programs

JANUS Research Group is seeking a Senior Aviation Military Analyst with extensive expertise in Army aviation maintenance, aviation maintenance facilities, and sustainment operations. This position provides subject matter expertise supporting aviation maintenance planning, facility modernization, logistics integration, and strategic initiatives for Army rotary-wing, fixed-wing, and unmanned aircraft systems. The selected candidate will support the analysis, planning, and coordination of aviation maintenance facility requirements while providing recommendations to senior Army leadership on modernization, sustainment, and future force initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level subject matter expertise on Army aviation maintenance operations, sustainment, and maintenance facility requirements.
  • Analyze aviation maintenance processes supporting rotary-wing, fixed-wing, and unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Assess maintenance, logistics, and facility impacts associated with current and future Army aviation modernization initiatives.
  • Support updates and staffing actions for the Aviation Maintenance Facility Design Standard (CC21110).
  • Provide technical expertise on the planning, design, and sustainment of Aviation Maintenance Hangar Complexes supporting aircraft maintenance, repair, flight operations, aircrew training, maintainer training, deployment, and redeployment activities.
  • Develop recommendations regarding modernization of aviation facilities and support infrastructure to meet current and future operational requirements.
  • Analyze aviation support equipment requirements and identify capability gaps affecting maintenance, logistics, and facility operations.
  • Develop and recommend courses of action supporting modernization initiatives, including integration of Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) institutional training while maintaining support for the Enduring Fleet.
  • Support development and execution of the Facility Investment Plan (FIP) and provide executive-level briefings regarding programmed and funded aviation facilities within the Future Years Defense Program (FYDP).
  • Coordinate with Army stakeholders, including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), HQDA G-4, HQDA G-8, Installation Management Command (IMCOM), and other government organizations to support aviation facility planning and modernization.
  • Provide technical analysis and recommendations regarding budgeting, logistics, facility planning, and sustainment initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, technical documentation, and executive-level briefings for senior government leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of Army aviation maintenance experience supporting rotary-wing, fixed-wing, or unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing aviation maintenance personnel, supply operations, equipment, and facility assets.
  • Senior Aviation Badge or Master Aviation Badge required.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Army aviation maintenance operations
    • Airframe-specific maintenance
    • Phase maintenance flow management
    • Aviation logistics
    • Budget development and execution
    • Integrated Logistics Analysis Program (ILAP)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting updates to the Aviation Maintenance Facility Design Standard (CC21110).
  • Comprehensive understanding of Aviation Maintenance Hangar Complex operations and their role in supporting:
    • Aircraft maintenance and repair
    • Sustainment operations
    • Flight operations
    • Aircrew and maintainer training
    • Unit deployment and redeployment
  • Knowledge of:
    • Fixed-Wing TDA Facility Standard (CC21110)
    • Tactical Unmanned Air Vehicle TOE Facility Standard (CC21115)
  • Experience developing and supporting Facility Investment Plans (FIP).
  • Experience preparing and delivering executive-level briefings regarding programmed and funded aviation facilities within the Future Years Defense Program (FYDP).
  • Experience coordinating aviation facility planning with:
    • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
    • HQDA G-4
    • HQDA G-8
    • Installation Management Command (IMCOM)
  • Demonstrated ability to assess maintenance, logistics, and facility impacts related to aviation support equipment and modernization initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information to senior government leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Army aviation modernization initiatives, including FLRAA and other future force programs.
  • Experience with Army facility planning, military construction (MILCON), and infrastructure modernization.
  • Prior experience supporting Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Army Futures Command, or Army aviation program offices.
  • Experience developing strategic plans, technical analyses, and policy recommendations supporting Army aviation sustainment and readiness.
